The Munters DDS (Dessicant Dehumidification System) offers the flexibility and integrity of a custom product, the convenience and value of a pre-configured system. Munters DDS products are a traditional heat reactivated desiccant unit, utilizing high temperature heat in the form of direct fired gas, steam, or electricic heat to reactivate the wheel for low dewpoint applications. The DDS features double wall construction, enclosed insulation, easily removable panels, component flexibility and an FRP pultrusion frame that ensures no thermal bridging by providing a true “no through metal” design. Standard DDS configurations of airflow and dehumidifier positions provide the flexibility to accommodate most applications.

HOW A HONEYCOMBE ROTOR WORKS

The operation of a HoneyCombe dehumidifier is based on the principle of sorption. Sorption is the adsorption or the absorption process by which a desiccant removes water vapor directly from the air. When the air to be dried passes through the HoneyCombe rotor, the desiccant removes the water vapor directly from the air and holds it while the wheel rotates. As the moisture laden desiccant passes through the reactivation sector, the water vapor is transferred to a heated air stream, which is exhausted to the outside. The process is continuous, allowing for uninterrupted dehumidification. Munters produces more than 5,000 Honey Combe rotors at its U.S. manufacturing facility each year under the ISO 9001 certification.
